OJOO is een platform waarop je makkelijk zelf "mobile games" kunt maken. De Games With Attitude Competition beloont de meest originele en spannende games, die tussen 1 oktober en 31 december 2016 live gingen op OJOO, en was onderverdeeld in drie categorieën: Location Based Games, Non-Location Based Games en International Games.
Bij vzw de Scriptomanen publiceerde Els Vermeir in het najaar het boek Parijs Onderhuids, dat grotendeels tot stand kwam in mijn cursus Literaire Creatie (Academie voor Podiumkunsten, Aalst). Op zoek naar een originele manier om het boek te promoten, dacht ik aan een OJOO citytrip quiz... en ziedaar! De productie werd genomineerd in de sectie Non-Location Based Games (je kunt de quiz immers overal spelen, eventueel als voorbereiding op een citytrip naar Parijs... maar je hebt er wel het boek voor nodig).
Uit het juryverslag: "Not every game on OJOO has to be a city tour or a simple quiz. The platform can be used in so many different ways. This quiz isn’t just the sum of a few questions, it accompanies a book that was published at the same time. The book tells stories of the secret world of Paris, set in every of the 20 arrondissements. This OJOO follows the story and asks questions in and about each of those locations. A great combo of mobile and traditional media."
Ook genomineerd, maar dan in de sectie Location Based Games, is Het Mysterie van Sint-Amands, een magisch-realistisch verhaal dat ik maakte samen met An Staels... en de inwoners van Sint-Amands... over de excentrieke oude man die daar werd gezien. Gaat het werkelijk om de reïncarnatie van de beroemde dichter Emile Verhaeren? "Find out for yourself en get swept up in this poetic story filled with audio fragments."
